Obama congratulated Donald Trump for his victory and invited him to a meeting at the White House today.
According to Daily Mail, Trump and his wife Melania departed from LaGuardia Airport at 9:36 am on Thursday morning on his private Boeing 757. They landed at Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington D.C. just after 10.30am, and immediately headed to the White House. They were seen entering the White House just before 11am via a back entrance through the South Lawn that is inaccessible to media.
Reporters will only be allowed into the meeting at the very end of it for what is known as a “pool spray,” a photo opportunity in which they typically also ask questions. Trump and Obama, however, are not expected to give any comments.
Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, owner of the New York Observer and a senior adviser to the president-elect’s campaign, also came along on the meeting. He was seen meeting with speaking to White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, leading to speculation that Trump is considering him for the position.
