A New York Times report about Donald Trump’s 1995 tax records reveals the GOP nominee declared a $916 million loss that could have allowed him to legally skip paying federal income taxes for years.
In an attempt to put Trump’s tax returns at the center of the presidential campaign less than 40 days before the election, Hillary Clinton’s campaign Saturday night eagerly seized on the controversy.
The Times’ article “reveals the colossal nature of Donald Trump’s past business failures and just how long he may have avoided paying any federal income taxes whatsoever,” the Clinton campaign said.
The catchphrase of the mainstream media has become Trump “failed to pay taxes.”
Yet, none other than Crooked Hillary used the same tax “scheme” on her taxes in 2015, utilizing a $700,000 “loss” to avoid paying some taxes.
From Gateway Pundit:
However, a look back at Hillary Clinton’s tax returns from 2015 (here), proudly displayed by the campaign proving she has nothing to hide – shows something awkward on page 17…
Trump didn’t do anything wrong. He just saved what he could of his money he made. This federal tax break is among the wealthy’s most used tax avoidance loophole.
Those 1.1 million folks in the 1 percent, as measured by the TPC, have annual income that averages a little less than $700,000. The top one-tenth of that group, some 110,000 households, average about $3.6 million, according to Howard Gleckman, a senior fellow at the TPC.2
The middle of the pack, some 33 million people, have pretax income ranging from $45,000 to $80,000. The lowest one-fifth of taxpayers, a universe of about 47 million Americans, have income up to about $24,000.
Like many ‘wealthy’ individuals, Clinton is took advantage of a legal scheme, using historical losses to avoid paying current taxes.
This tax return attack on Trump is an epic fail.
Everyone wants to avoid paying as much taxes as possible.
